Privacy

This page says what the app actually does with your data, nothing more and nothing less. If a sentence here no longer matches the code, it’s the sentence that’s wrong.

What data, and why

Registration asks for four pieces of information. Here is what each one is for:

To improve the service, we keep a few structured events, for signed-in accounts only, for 90 days. No free text and no raw MIDI hits; no anonymous tracking. A source or referral code in your sign-up link may be saved with your account.

Username
To identify you in the app, and to show your name publicly if you publish content.
Email
To find your account and help you get back into it.
Country
Optional, and deliberately coarse: to see where our users come from and decide which languages and markets to prioritize. Never a region or a city.
Password
Never stored: only an Argon2id hash is kept.

What your practice produces

Using the app creates other data tied to your account: the patterns, blocks, programs and metronome presets you save privately, the sessions you plan, your practice logbook, and your kit’s diagnostic snapshots. This data has one purpose: letting you find your work on any device instead of losing it each time you switch.

For how long

Your data is kept as long as your account exists. There is currently no automatic deletion beyond that: you decide when it’s erased, by deleting your account.

Your rights

Access

Your username and email are always visible on the “Account” screen.

Erasure

“Delete account”, on the “Account” screen, actually erases your account. It’s the only irreversible action in the app: it asks for your current password and for you to retype your username.

Not yet self-service

You can’t yet change your username or email yourself, or export a copy of your data. We’d rather say so than let you think there’s a button for it.

You can also contact your country’s data protection authority.

What survives when you delete your account

A pattern, block, program or preset you PUBLISHED doesn’t disappear with your account: other drummers may still be practicing it. Only your link to it is erased; it becomes the work of an unknown author and is never attributed to you again.

Other drummers’ logbook entries for that content aren’t touched either: deleting your account never erases someone else’s work.

Who hosts your data, and who receives it

The site and your data are hosted by OVH (OVH SAS), on a server managed by eDrumWork’s publisher.

Subscriptions are sold by Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe group company, which handles payments. When you click “Subscribe”, eDrumWork sends Stripe your email address and your account’s public ID, then takes you to Stripe’s payment page. You enter your card details with Stripe, and they never pass through eDrumWork, which only keeps your subscription’s references and status.

No trackers, fonts or scripts come from a third-party service: even the fonts are served from this server. Stripe’s payment page is a separate page, outside this site.

No data is sold, rented or shared for advertising purposes.

Legal basis

Creating an account rests on the CONTRACT you enter into with the app, not on a consent checkbox, which is why the sign-up form has no “I agree” box. This page informs you; it doesn’t ask you to consent to a service you’re requesting yourself.
